Today the Velocity Fund Finals pitch competition happened, celebrating it's 20th edition, which has helped fund over 200 startups from the University of Waterloo who have gone on to raise over $700M USD from VC's around the world.
Rapid and real-time connectivity emerged as trends for the four winning startups walking home today with a $25k prize. Envoi, NanoCnet, Shiftride, and Tabnex were among the 20 companies pitching at the competition, which was presented by Thomson Reuters and supported by the legendary Sequoia Capital and Magna.
